i've also had this problem and have been told i need to update my DVD-Rom with Firmware then it should work havent tried yet but it's the only bit of hope we got at the moment!:(

I'm having exact same problem i took the game back first time and they gave me another copy and it's doin exact same thing just not reading the DVD and i've checked my drive so i kno it isn't that. I would appreciate some help as well please !... :cry: wish i could be playing civ4!
