I agree. I've never had barbarian problems cause I know how to deal with them... Played many games, with barbarians having their own cities and axeman and whatnot, but I just know how to deal with it. If you just sit there and wait for barbarians to kick your ass, then they will do exactly that.

I'd be surprised if there are any games at all that utilise dual core cpus, there's currently only a handfull of multithreading capable apps. It's still new.

Hey Jah. I had a go at your game - and it was a nice change from my usual games. I never played as the Japanese and it was my first attempt at a cultural victory! I ended up winning a cultural victory in 1934AD. Attached is a save game. thanks for sharing your save!

well if you could to that, it would remove the whole point of having different types of units with their strengths and weaknesses

I think just giving yourself 50 spies all over the map with the world builder would be the best idea

satellites doesn't remove fog of war by the way, it just reveals the map excluding civs

I just want to say I'm trying this strategy and it's working quite well. The initial stages are tricky, with lots of variables and so on, and you have to adjust accordingly. But once it is set up, with The Kremlin built and a fair bit of core commerce producting cities, it works very well...

Civ4 rebooted my computer while it was writing stuff to my disk, thus corrupting the file system. My hard disk is fine, completely error free and quite new. I also defrag it quite regularly. Civ4 isn't even on the same partition as my operating system. I hate to sound rude, but I know about...

I'm quite familiar with stress testing my hardware for stability, and yeah I can run Prime95 for hours, memtest is all good, 3dMarks2005 can loop for days... etc... I just don't know why civ4 does the things it does
