"Error extracting support files: Incorrect Function"

I just got CIV III as part of a trade - unopened so I know there isn't damage to the CD. I tried installing it this morning and the auto-run wasn't kicking in. I manually ran the setup.exe file and i got this message: ""Error extracting support files: Incorrect Function" Any ideas?
