The Rise from Erebus modmod, among many other things, has a steampunk faction called the Mechanos. One they've teched up a bit, they have plenty of units with guns, artillery pieces and such.

I love this mod, been playing it for quite a while. Thanks for all the hard work. :)
Oh, I would never mistake the Tassie Devil as harmless, which is why I queried the idea. :) The >>> <<< thing is a holdover from days without quote buttons, for some reason I fall back into it from time to time.
>>>actually you CAN get magtubes to cross even ridges or rocky terrain: its a little more expensive though as it consumes the former: build a bunker and you get the magtube in addition <<<
Nice! :)
Is this an intended feature or a delightful side effect?
I like the mercenaries. I've found being able to place some powerful units quickly at a crucial part of the map has enabled me to turn around potential military disasters utterly, or to at least buy time for my real army to show up.
It feels right to me that a cash rich civ can spawn an army...
I'm obsessed with the Mechanos at the moment. Elves falling in waves to musket volleys and cities being shattered by concentrated cannon fire? Yes please!
I'm also a big fan of the Khazad and the Luchiurp; all those forts and golems and stoic short men thumping elves and vampires in between...
I can confirm the disappearing city screen.
It is intermittent though, and I've not noticed any pattern that would explain why it comes and goes. Reloading doesn't seem to help it. The next time it dissappears in a game I'll post the save.
