I personally like 1UPT. It is an upgrade to the stacks of doom from Civ 4.
Humankind and a few other games have shown that this can be implemented to be fun. Even Civ VI, for all it's faults, improved on the 1UPT formula from V.
If they changed it back to stacks, I'd hope that they limit the...
The information on Steam is very vague as well.
I think it's a 4x history game similar to Civ but the dev updates and forums don't give enough information to really say for sure.
I'm interested in this game but would like more information.
I know what I'm getting when Firaxis announces...
The leaders look like a close copy of Civ 6. Weird.
Certainly the graphics are reminiscent of Civ 5.
Not sure what to think of the game. I'm always happy to have an additional historical 4x strategy game to play so no complaints; hopefully, the pull it off better than Humankind.
Hmm.
That is interesting. I'm not sure why he felt the changes made in Civ 6 were an improvement. The WC in 6 is pretty poorly implemented - there's just too much there. Sometimes less is more.
I don't remember how it worked in 5 but I don't recall having negative feelings about it.
Better diplomacy.
Get rid of the religious victory condition or change it so it's not just unit spam.
Please change the world congress so the things you're voting on are impactful - maybe just have one thing each session to vote on.
The only way may be a mod.
That's the main reason I disable the religious victory. It's not enjoyable but if you ignore it, the AI could win the game that way.
I agree 100%.
It's a great game but the most flawed of the main Civ series.
I think they need new leadership in the team that's making Civ. The present group has gone as far as it can I think.
In my opinion, the review raised a lot of good points.
The reviewer never said Civ VI wasn't good. They actually stated it was a very good game; however, in their opinion, they felt it was the weakest entry of the main games in the series. If I think about it, I probably would agree. This is...
I've heard the claims of other games being "civ-killers" in the past. So far, none have come close. Call to Power I and II were probably the takes on the genre.
Humankind was the latest one. It wasn't the Devs claiming this though; it was the community. Obviously, that game didn't do anything...
There will definitely be bugs but Firaxis does a pretty good job of cleaning those up over the course of the game. I think they've even still added a mini-patch to Civ V last year.
I'd hope they terminate the religious victory or change it dramatically from unit spamming to something that is a little more fun.
I agree the world congress was not good. I would prefer they have just one resolution to vote on at a time but make it something significant that affects the game...
The Civ series has always had excellent presentation and character that other 4x games (space or historical) are weaker or lack completely.
I may take a break from playing from time to time and try something different (playing Distant Worlds 2 now) but I always come back to Civ. It gives me...
I like the districts and the limited stacking of 6 so I'd keep that in 7. I'd turf the religion aspect of the game; unit spam isn't fun. I'd go back to making religion like it was in IV, not an integral part of the game but it can have an impact on relations. In addition, no unit spam! I'd also...
