    Its the gold version and the check for updates thing never says there is an update available. I just checked it again. I know direct X is up to date. CIV 4 auto update would know if there was an update available, right?

    I forgot to mention that the hard drives on the 2nd machine are dual 74gig Raptors set in Raid to read as a single hard drive.
