i think the point is if you take a indian convert, train him in anything, then remove his specialty he will then be a free colonist and no longer an indian convert. that is the bug.

I know the normal retail version of this game comes infected with securom. Is there other distributions that do not have this particular crapware on them?

i forgot to mention, while your island has nearly every resource in the game, only the barbarian island has stone and marble. and the player isnt very close to that island. also, if you put your cities where i imagined them, you will have a slight production advantage over the AI =P.
