This has afflicted me, too. I tried most of the methods in this thread to fix it to no avail. The one suggestion I didn't try was re-installing the game - I'm pretty pissed about this so I have no interest in spending my scant spare time when I can just be playing another game. Despite my...
Does raging barbs even exist anymore? I always check this option, but I haven't had a decent swarm of barbarians since FfH v0.3x. What do people do to get some good barbarian horde action? I'm thinking I need to tweak some settings in the XML.

I've been having fun with my latest game - really enjoying the mod.
Unfortunately, I get a CTD about every second turn or so. It is triggered by the opening of a diplomacy window or any adviser screens. However, right after I load a save, neither of these is an issue. Quick memory leak?
I...
Just tried out RiFE for the first time. Lots of goodies and great potential.
I have one request regarding events. The goblin waste event is the most unfun event in the game, mainly because there's nothing you can do about the damage done to your tiles. Can it be made temporary, somehow? Either...
Are you thinking of the "Work of Art" function for the first disciple units? In marathon games, they give 60 culture. I use them extensively when I'm greening the world as Arendel Phaedra.

Thanks for the reply. Is all of that post for me? I'm unclear what a "mechanics whore" is, or what you mean by naming leaders and cities. If I get in on the game this Saturday, I'd probably prefer to play Ljosalfar/Arendel, Khazad/either, or Doviello/Charadon. Do the players commit to civs...
Hmm, that's too bad. I've been fighting with Civ to get a balanced game experience, and so when I saw this Variable Difficulty thing I got quite excited.
I haven't seen much commenting on this feature (though I don't see much of the forum anymore). How is this working for people?
I just tried my first .34 game. I was very excited to try this variable difficulty feature.
My game:
- 19 civs
- Marathon speed
- Aggressive AI, raging...
Yes, that is the key. I find FfH easier than Vanilla for this reason. Experience comes faster and promotions are more powerful, and I know how to utilize those high-experience units much better than the AI.

Haven't been active on the board for a while, but the thread title instantly drew me in. I have never, ever, seen the benefit of a temporary happiness boost. I am a micromanager, and I recognize my condition for what it is, and welcome any and all reductions to micromanagement in Civ. A temp...
I voted "Never" on this poll because I couldn't remember the last time I actually finished a game. However, it would be the same for vanilla CIV IV. My typical set-up is a huge map with many (17+) opponents at the longest speed - by the time I get mid-way through a FFH game (if I make it that...
