I don't use World Builder. My way of "cheating" is simply reloading the game from a previous autosave and just trying to prevent the situation from happening. Um...is this something everyone does? I find myself having to use it pretty often

Thank you for the welcome and the assistance, ori. I think I've fixed the problem, although probably not in the best way. I was tired of having that install screen up so I ejected the disc... and then the installer moved past the DirectX screen and started installing, so I put the disc back...
