    Unrestricted leaders and civ uniques

Inspired by the CIV tier list discussion. What would you consider your dream combo of unique civ buildings / unit and unrestricted leaders? some of my favorites: Churchill of Spain would be pretty nice, as getting those CR3 cannons out would become so much easier with cheap citadels and less xp...

Nobles' Club 334: Suleiman of the Ottomans

@soundjata About city gifting rules: You can see in the diplomacy screen if the gift is liberation or not (at least in Buffy). In order to be considered liberation, the city needs to: 1. Be on tile that already has their culture (e.g. contested tile that has 60% of your culture and 40% of...

    No slavery challenge

Tried the previous Ottoman NC (331) on deity, for this challenge. I though using the gunpowder beeline through education could work here. Unfortunately, halfway trough I realized I had bungled the beeline. I remembered, you had to avoid either pottery or bronze working, when it was avoid...

    Negative gold

I had funny thing happen to me in latest NC game. My treasury got to -1 gold. I believe it happened by me spending my exact treasury on research and then enemy privateer plundered some gold from me. This was funny until I realized that I was unable to whip in any of my cities. Confirmed this...

As Nick said above, both start improving corn at same turn, but 1NW gains us 5 more commerce. So if there are no other considerations 1 NW wins.

Nobles' Club 315: Tokugawa of Japan

@sampsa Definitely, my musings were simply as response to complains by @AcaMetis that you can't get to them early enough to actually use them. The tech path with two synergistic bulbs is there, but I have never actually tried this, so I have no idea, if there is a way to pull this through.

Nobles' Club 315: Tokugawa of Japan

To get to Samurai we need two big techs, Civil Service and Machinery, plus iron working. Shortest tech path is: fishing (Japan starting tech) wheel (Japan starting tech) pottery mining bronze working metal casting machinery (engineer bulb) writing mathematics currency...

@Kaitzilla Just throwing out guesses here, could the number be either technology era or unit level through upgrade tree?

Playing with Buffy, no huts + random events on. The tile south of our settler, where hut used to be is forested, what gives?

[BTS] Barbarian Challenge 2022 Deity Edition

I declare victory on this one. It's 1585 AD. The City of Barbarians has fallen, the continent is fog-busted and I have acquired all resources requested. My wise men are still researching the ways of melting metals and casting them on various forms, but it's only matter of time. This could have...

How much war success do you need to get techs in a peace deal?

Do retreating catapults also gain you war success or 'only' xp and GG points?

Nobles' Club 299: Pacal II of the Mayan Empire

@BornInCantaloup Unhappy settler should consider career as diplomat. There is probably a nice place to set up embassy somewhere on Zara's eastern border, or maybe NE of Rome.
