    Deity culture victory strategies

I highly recommend watching this play-through if you want to see a beautifully executed fast culture victory. I don't speak or read Chinese, so it was an additional fun challenge to figure out (for example) which policies he was selecting and why! Some of the highlights: The game is over...

How good is going for Reyna first?

I would have been fine if the governors were labelled instead of named ("The Financier" instead of "Reyna") in the game. But I like the brevity of the names. And even folks who hate the names always say "Victor" and "Amani" instead of "The Castellan" or "The Diplomat". So maybe the folks at...

    Skipping GP

If you can grab both GPs, then you definitely grab both GPs! Even a worthless GP (eg: Hildegard if you're playing as Mvemba) can be used for scouting, and is better denied to the AI than handed over. But. . . if an AI is close enough behind you in GPPs, you might have to choose between getting...

    AI founding a religion question

Yep, @Chefofrats is correct. You are guaranteed a religion if you have a Great Prophet, so you can wait for a few Holy Sites to come online before founding your religion. And since the city where you pop the GP becomes the "holy city" and exerts extra religious pressure, it sometimes makes sense...

    Skipping GP

It's often hilarious how many GPPs you can accumulate waiting for the AI to pick up a GP you skipped. Sometimes you'll have enough GPPs for the next 2 or 3 GPs in the queue, and the game gives them all to you in the next turn.

[R&F] Great People, and "filling the buckets"

I really hope scholars unearth "Beethoven's 1812th" in my lifetime. And I hope it has a part for cannons. :) Joking aside, I enjoy the culture game immensely, but would love to see Firaxis fill it out it more in future expansions. One can imagine the cultural and artistic history of the world...

    Corps broken by patch?

I think of corps and armies as a mechanism for extending the life of an experienced and/or unique unit. At a certain point, enemy melee units are too strong for the Eagle Warrior to enslave. But if you form an Eagle Warrior army, you can continue capturing later into the game.

    Mekewap yield

On the other hand, depending on terrain, you can surround a single wonder with chateaux and they each get the bonus. Planning out wonders based on rivers and luxuries can be a lot of fun, and yield a surprising amount of culture and (later) tourism.

    Most Useless Policy Card

I had the same reaction! Pillaging gives you almost every yield in the game, in exchange for a wee bit of tempo. It’s worthwhile without the card, and extremely satisfying with it.

[R&F] How do you tell which buildings a city is in range of?

CQUI has a "City Overlap" lens that is quite handy.

Why Civ 6 AI is terrible - Part 1: Wonders

I'm curious to hear what changed your mind about Oxford University and the Hermitage. And what's this about "stop spies stealing"?

    Welcome New Members

Hello, everybody! I was an avid Civ I player in the 1990s (you never forget your first computer game allnighter) but I missed out on all of the sequels. I have been obsessed with Civ 6 since it was released. Tinkering with single-player strategies has been my primary hobby for the last year. I...

What is the most versatile civilization?

Another (possibly dubious) argument in favor of France's versatility: wonders taken as a whole are a versatile source of bonuses, impacting every system in the game. A production boost to mid-game wonders can be used to advance absolutely any strategy. And while the combat bonuses from...
