I've seen the AI get attacked by Barbs. I think that given the choice between attacking a player or attacking an AI, they'll pick the player. Otherwise, if an AI is the only one to attack then they'll attack there.
How about a mod that removes all of the diplomacy spam from the AI? I don't care if you think my army is a little on the weak side or that the vermin are breeding. It's irritating to have to say no to the same requests turn after turn. It would be nice if anytime the AI wanted to talk to you, a...
I used to do the whole GL->Philosophy->NC thing, but found out the higher in difficulty you go the harder it's going to be to get it built. I play on emperor now and I don't even bother trying because it's going to be snatched up. Plus, it forces you to learn how to play without it.

In my games the AI is putting cities on every little sliver of land it can find. It's especially irritating when they do it right next to my borders just because there's maybe 3 hexes that my boarder hasn't engulfed yet.
I have no idea what it means. I recently had a civ tell me that another civ launched a sneak attack against me. He had to come across an ocean to do it so I sent out a few ships to find him and I never saw any units coming for me.
