Does the AI care if it wins?

I know the AI is...artificial. It doesn't feel anything, but I finished my latest game last night. In a loss.... It just seemed that the AI didn't care if it won, that it only cared if I did. Let me explain. I was playing as the Dutch. Alexander vassalised Huyna, Isabella, and Churchill...

Playing big maps, computer performance, how?

Well my graphic settings, graphic details? Were on high, I don't know what is the default ,but knowing me I probabbly set it to high when I first installed the game. I dropped it down a bit to the medium setting, the game runs more smooth now during game play. Although after midway through the...

Playing big maps, computer performance, how?

What I don't understand is if my graphics are the bottle neck on the PC, then why does the game run perfect in the first half? The graphics are always the same. If the game can't run correctly on a average PC, then its not ready to ship out.

    Peace Treaties I never signed

I know its for game play, but asking for tribute and subsequently attacking is historically accurate, so is being committed to a peace treaty and still attacking anyways

    AI spamming forest preserves

Why do the AI's do that all the time, especially when they are a colony or in a weak state. I would think that is the worst time and situation for forest preserves.

Playing big maps, computer performance, how?

Agreed, sometimes it gets really laggy, I save and decide that instead of reloading I'll just pick up the next day. Wish the game was always smooth like it is during the first half of gameplay.

    Espionage

Playing big maps, computer performance, how?

Hehe, the days where I can convince the folks to get me things are long gone, the only reason I have access to their house is because they want to help me finish college. The game runs perfect, until renaissance/industrial eras... but then again I've known the graphics are that PC's weak...

Playing big maps, computer performance, how?

Well its not my computer actually, its my parents..if I it was mine, I would of save up longer and build a better one. But their PC doesn't look too bad, its a AMD Phenom, it has 4GB of ram, but it has onboard graphics. Upgraded it to win 7, no difference. No other programs or game lag on the...

Playing big maps, computer performance, how?

I noticed reloading the game helps a bit, but not for long, especially late in the game. And restarting the game is not a fun idea, from loading Civ IV until the saved game actually loads can take a minute or more at times. I wanted to get the 3.19 patch but I am scared it will slow it down...

    What's your worst military disaster?

I was surprised, early in that same game he declared war on Pacal on his own and took one of his cities.

Playing big maps, computer performance, how?

Hey, I've always liked the big maps, but have been limited to standard size, because my computer which is not too (bought it last year), seems to have problems hurrying up in between turns. The biggger the worse, especially in marathon games. Installing the BUG mod seemed to make the game lag a...

    What's your worst military disaster?

Just played a game, built the UN, but Ghandi kept winning the elections, putting the same resolution (emancipation) for vote all the time. I was planning an invasion had a nice large fleet of battle ships, destroyers, transports, tanks, artill, and infantry, ready to strike Ghandis second...

    Lolzy and Undiplomatic Leaders

Joao is a character himself in the game, doesn't notice you then flinches when he does... or when he approves deals... First time I saw Ragnar approve of a deal I could not help but laugh hard, he really gets the point across. Pacal is another clown, when he throws his fits, when he approves...
