Civ7 Mod Manager 0.1.0-beta.3

A mod management tool for Civ7 that allows you to download, install, and update mods from Civfanatics. Currently supports Windows and Apple Silicon Mac.

If you want to download mods from sources other than Civfanatics, please use the CLI tool included in the GitHub Release.

Currently, the certificate used to sign the MacOS bundle hasn't been approved by Apple, so macOS might display a warning saying "Apple cannot check it for malicious software." If that happens, open the Settings app, select "Privacy & Security" on the left, find Civ7ModManagerGui, and click "Open Anyway" to run it.

This program is safe, and you can check out its source code on GitHub.

I plan to make the following changes in a future update:
- Provide the final executable directly instead of using an installer tool
- Use an official certificate to sign the app through the Apple Developer program

Thank you to everyone who helped identify bugs. 😄 All feedback is welcome. I hope this tool will be useful to as many people as possible until the official Steam Workshop is released.

Works flawlessly for me now on Mac!
I downloaded it and got it open on Mac but I have civ on steam and not an installed application but an application installed through steam so the mod manager can't find the location of the install
Thanks for this mod. After a little faff adding my already downloaded mods, works like a charm. Updating it was easy too, all in all a great mod.
I can't run it on my MAC as it says "Apple cannot check it for malicious software". :(

I have added a solution for the issue in the main text. I will fix it soon so that the warning doesn't appear anymore. 😊
This is very good. Way off in the future it would be nice if you pulled the whole database into the app but I don't expect that for a while. Happy to help with development if you'd like.

I did have one bug, however. When I try to install some mods from Leugi or Zhekoff, it tells "Extraction error: 'Can't decompress an entry marked as a directory'", e.g. leugis-renamed-ages.31864, zhekoffs-enhanced-diplomacy-banners.31866. I looked at the file structure and they seemed the same to any other mod, so I don't have any suggestions as to how to fix that.

Great work! I'm excited to see where this goes

Thank you for letting me know. I have uploaded a new version that resolves the issue.
This will be definitely great. However my folder has 8 mods : C:\Users\azono\AppData\Local\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VII\Mods

But the app can see exactly 0. :(

This tool can't detect any mods that were manually installed because it has no way of determining their CivFanatics URLs. I'm sorry, but you'll need to remove those mods and reinstall them via the mod manager.
Great idea, but shows error after launching on Mac M1 15.3.1
Reason: tried: '/opt/homebrew/*/libarchive.13.dylib' (no such file), '/System/Volumes/Preboot/Cryptexes/OS/opt/homebrew/*/libarchive.13.dylib' (no such file), '/opt/homebrew/*/libarchive.13.dylib' (no such file)
(terminated at launch; ignore backtrace)

Thank you for the review. If you’re able to use brew, running `brew install libarchive` should resolve the issue. In the next release, I’ll update it so it continues to work even if that package isn’t installed.

edit: I've just released a new version that fixes the issue. Thank you!
