About:
Carl Fritz's excellent Civ2 MGE & ToT savegame editor that allows you to edit all Civilizations in the game (in ways the cheat menu can not).
Note: This is a old 16bit application that will not work on modern 64bit operating systems unless you use either a Virtual Machine or WineVDM.
Original Description/Intro:
CivTweak (Version 1.5) : A Civ II Scenario file editor.
Legalese
CivTweak is freeware. Use it at your own risk.
You should make a backup of any files you would like to change beforehand.
So what's new in Version 1.5?
~ Added flat world flag.
So what's new in Version 1.4?
~ Now handles Test of Time Files. (TotTweak will no longer be revised.)
~ Bug fix: Handles tribe names better. The scenario flag was not a reliable indicator
of whether tribe names were present in the saved file.
Overview
Civtweak is a specialized Civ II Scenario file editor. You can only
edit a few fields with it. However, these are fields that cannot be
changed with the normal cheat menu in the game itself.
It works with Classic Civilization II, Conflicts in Civilization,
Fantastic Worlds, Multiplayer Gold Edition, and Test of Time created files.
Features
~ You can change barbarian form of government and gold levels.
~ You can change the default difficulty level that a scenario starts at.
~ You can change the level of barbarian activity.
~ You can set the bloodlust option on or off.
~ You can enable extra tribes if you started with less than 7. You'll still
have to go into the scenario and add the units and cities. This just makes
the tribe show up on the menu.
~ You can make the city style for played tribes agree with the city style
stated in the rules.txt file. Normally what you see for the tribe you play
is the bronze age graphic slot, unless it was the starting tribe when you
created the saved game, (which was correctly displayed).
Technical
This program was written with Visual Basic Version 3. It requires the Visual
Basic run time module VBRUN300.DLL. VBRUN300.DLL can be installed in the
Windows\System directory or in the same directory in which you install
CivTweak. It is also available for download at my web page.
Installation
Create a new directory and unzip all the files contained in this package
into it. When you set up the windows shortcut, you may find it helpful
to set the working directory to your civ2 scenario directory. That way you'll
have to do less clicking to find your file.
