During the One Year War, the Earth Federation Forces' Pegasus class revolutionizes battleship design. Whereas existing battleships pre-date mobile suits, the ships of the Pegasus class are designed as mobile suit carriers, with internal hangars and launch catapults housed in its "leg" sections. The Pegasus class also features the Minovsky craft system, which allows the ship to make atmospheric re-entry and fly unassisted on Earth. Several Pegasus class ships are introduced during and after the One Year War, but design changes result in many of the ships having radically different appearances. (MAHQ.net)
