1.0.0.257 Cities don't show on the map

This has likely been going on since the game came out, though I don't play very often and can't swear by that, but here's the issue:

On the map no cities display. This makes it exceptionally hard to track down barb encampments, but also when trying to conquer other civs.

I also cannot see any tile improvements, and do not have the portraits for any units or their actions, though the units themselves are visible on the map.

I've attached a screenshot showing the issues, any ideas on how to get this fixed?

No mods and only the aztec dlc

Well, what you describe is certainly not standard behavior. Typical things to do first are to validate your game files through Steam (right click Civ Vi in your Steam Library, select Properties, then Local Files, and then Verify Integrity of Game Files. If it downloads any new files, repeat until it gives a clean report. Also check your video drivers.

I just updated my video drivers the other day and it has persisted across a couple of different drivers but i will verify the file integrity when i run home on my lunch break, thanks!

16 files didn't validate, and once they downloaded everything appears to be there, can't believe I didn't think to do that first, thanks!
