VP Congress: Session 2, Proposal 53

Proposal: Increase Great Prophet movement speed to 4

Rationale: It is frustrating to move them around currently when trying to convert other civs. Especially so, when missionaries are so fast.

It's weird to me how the ultimate converter can in some situations be worse than plain converters.

Another argument in favor might be that great diplomats are also faster.

Not a bad idea. Gives people more choice whether they want their Holy City somewhere other than the capital to some degree as well, now that they all spawn there.

I always saw it as a way to showcase missionaries. Your Prophet strolls through the fields, people flocking to them constantly. While your missionaries are dashing about bringing the good word. So the flavor has always made sense to me. It also counteracts their power a bit, as they are significantly stronger than missionaries (unless the missionaries have zealotry).

That said, it wouldn't break the bank if they were faster, and if it helps make them more flexible I don't see why not.

If they are gonna have 4 move, give them half move in enemy territory. A hostile great prophet coming to obliterate my religion is something I want to have some ability to prevent. (I don't know if the AI even does this, though. I've never seen it)
