Couldn't find another thread about this, but its just a quick question.

Is there any way of working out whether AI civs have embassies with one another? Or if not, is there any way of calculating the possibility that an AI will establish an embassy with another AI? Is the motivation for AI building embassies purely to do with needing an ROP, MPP or MA from an opponent?

I ask, since I would like to know what the chance of me being the target of a dogpile is, and how long i can therefore stay at war with someone, without having to sign a truce or another MA to prevent the aforementioned dogpile.

Cheers

If you suck all the money out of the AIs and keep them with less than 100G in the bank then it will be difficult for them to establish embassies. The change in income usually happens on the turn (sometimes the turn before or the turn after) they research a tech, so you may need to see what they can pay in GPT on that turn and suck it dry again.

The other option is to sign MAs (but not ROPs) with those Civs that are next to you and NOT next to the target AI. It will take the MA AIs forever to wade across your land to get at the target. Typically there will be trickles of troops. Depending on civ play order, I will sometimes use them to damage the AI defenders and then I will capture the AI civ from under their eyes. The danger is that the other AI civs will get lucky and capture a city or two during the course of the war.

generally, AI likes to make ROP with each other, and less often with you
so a good way to tell if AI has embassies is if they have ROP
