I have BTS 3.02 and it has been playing perfectly. Then all of a sudden all the units vanished. They are still playable (Can move, settle, work, etc.) but are invisible. I tried loading mods, using the editor, starting new games but to no avail. Everything looks fine, just can't see my units.

Sounds like you're worse off now than if you had installed 3.03 ;) Try the patch, you can always uninstall BTS if you need to get rid of 3.03.

Well, figured out that for some reason, for me, the bare map option was reverting as on by default. Check and see if it's highlighted above the minimap and turn it off if so.

Thanks for the help. I finally uninstalled BTS and reinstalled. Seems to be OK now. Still on 3.02. No one seems to like 3.03 so I'll wait on that.

That has happened to me twice (once on both of my computers). It's really annoying and I haven't found any other way to fix it but to reinstall BtS.

Yeah, I had the same problem the other night.
It first occured when I tried to play a mod (I think it was Defense, or maybe Afterworld). I couldn't see the units so I figured the mod was broken. But after I changed back to the core game, they were still not there!
Had to reinstall to make it work.

Damn. This bug strikes again. First I had the missing Text bug (fixed by rolling back to an older nvidia driver) and now this. Reminds me of when Civ4 first came out and I was constantly reinstalling in hopes that it would fix this or that.

Ok I've reinstalled twice. First time upgraded to 3.02 immediately second time I did not upgrade and just left it at the gold version.

Second time I went through after the uninstall and deleted everything in the Beyond the Sword directory and My Games directory.

I also downgraded nvidia drivers from 163.44 to 162.22 to 158.18. In all cases units are still missing.

I'll note that Warlords works fine and so does vanilla Civ. Everyone else seems to fix it with a reinstall but not here yet.

Now I feel like an idiot. I had "Bare Map" enabled and didn't realize it. What is perplexing is that civ4 remembered this across games and ini files and even a reinstall.

Glad you figured it out though :). I think you need to delete your profiles directories to really wipe out this information. I'm away from my Civ4 computer atm, but I seem to recall it's something like C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\My Games\Beyond the Sword\profiles. Notice that it's different than the C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\My Games directory structure. And Windows often doesn't delete these sorts of things when it uninstalls stuff.

On a similar note, I've noticed lots of glitches with the display toggles. For example, if you load the World Builder with resources displayed and then exit to the Main Menu and start a new game, then the resources will be turned off.
