Announcing my daughter's birth

Hello all:

Just thought I'd share with all of you. My wife and I have been blessed with the birth of a beautiful baby daughter. Shannon Michelle Dunn was born at 13:41 Eastern time on Thursday the 6th of September. She weighed in at 8lbs and 1oz and was 21 inches long (sorry - I don't know the metric conversions

) Both mother and daughter are doing fine, and the new dad is worn out!

What a great experience it was. I watched the whole thing and it was truly incredible.

I guess there will be times that I'll be on the forums late into the night for posting as feeding times come around. Hope to see some of you there.

Thanks to all for the well wishes!

This IS indeed my first. I do have an 11-year-old stepson (who also just started middleschool), but this is my first that I'm linked to genetically.

... And you are correct Kitten - my wife does not smoke (nor do I for that matter).

I can assure you that there will be plenty of nights where I'm holding her in my lap and explaining to her the finer points of Civilization as she absorbs and learns. Watch out - she may be getting the best of all of us in the GOTM very soon!!
