Well do you? I've got all of their albums my favourite being Demanufacture followed by Obsolete. I also managed to pick up a copy of G/Z/Rs Plastic Planet CD which Burton C Bell (Fear Factory's lead singer) sung the vocals on. G/Z/R withBurton are responsable for "The Invisible" (track 8) song on the Mortal Kombat soundtrack album. Also have FF digital connectivity DVD and are currently listening to Gravity Kills Perversion album.

Yeah, I'm a metalhead; yeah, I like Fear Factory. Have ever since their first album came out in 1992. My favorites are also Demanufacture and Obsolete; haven't got the latest one yet, though.

Latest one is a bit weak but not to bad. I was happy it came out 1 year after Archetype as they usually do an album every 3 years (1992- Soul of a New Machine, 95 Demanufacture, 98 Obsolete, 2001 Digimortal, 2004 Archtype).

Ebay is great for cheap albums if you're opposed to large scale downloading like me.

LOOOOOOOVE Fear Factory. I only have the first two albums of thiers, but I friggin' wore them out during high school

I'm a Fear Factory fan, I have Demanufacture which I like:) Plus Edgecrusher and Linchpin are both classic tunes!

Other '90's metal' bands I partiucarly like would be Machine Head and Sepultrua:)

The biotech students here like to play that one really LOUD.

Sepultura is quite nice. I'm not too fond of Fear Factory.

Yeah thats a great album, along with Roots of course!:)

Roots is my ultimate favourite 90's metal album. I bought a barimbau just because of the second track!!

My favourite Sepultura song is actually a rarity of thiers: a cover of a brazillian punk song called Policia. If anyone here knows the origin and english lyrics to that song and would care to let me in on it, I would be forver indebted to them....

EDIT: ok, a quick internet search told me that the tune was originally done by a band called TITÂS, and gave me a translation  maybe if I waited 2 seconds to look up things before I post....anyhoo, here's the lyrics and translation, if anyone's interested....

Spoiler :

Dizem Que Ela Existe -- Pra Ajudar
Dizem Que Ela Existe -- Pra Proteger
Eu Sei Que Ela Pode --Te Parar
Eu Sei Que Ela Pode -- Te Prender

Policia Para Que Precisa
Policia Para Quem Precisa De Policia
Policia Para Que Precisa
Policia Para Quem Precisa De Policia

Dizem Pra Voce Obedecer!
Dizem Pra Voce Cooperar!
Dizem Pra Voce TOMA NO CU!
Dizem Pra Voce FILHA DA PUTA!

Policia Para Que Precisa
Policia Para Quem Precisa De Policia
Policia Para Que Precisa
Policia Para Quem Precisa De Policia

Translation [Sepultura Version]

They Say It Exists To Help
They Say It Exists To Protect
I Know It Can Stop You
I Know It Can Arrest You

Police Why Is It Needed
Police For Who Need Police
Police Why Is It Needed
Police For Who Need Police

They Tell You To Obey!
They Tell You To Collaborate!
They Tell You: Take The *******!
They Tell You: Son Of The *****!

Police Why Is It Needed
Police For Who Need Police
Police Why Is It Needed
Police For Who Need Police

I loved Fear Is The Mindkiller, but didn't like Demanufacture, and stopped listening to them after that.

Fear Is the Mindkiller was an EP with several Soul of a New Machine songs on it. Not really a fan of SoaNM as its just death metal really. I like a couple of songs.

I never heard Fear Factory, except on the Mortal Kombat soundtrack, and it was one of my favorite songs on it. I should find more fear factory.

(oh yeah, I forgot, there also was a soft rock 80's band called fear factory, and I always wondered if they just drastically changed, or if it was a different band)

I also really liked Faith No More... a 90's metal band too.

I liked some Pantera, Scepultura and Prong too.

Personally when I think of "90s metal" it's mostly doom and black metal bands that come to mind. But then I am Scandinavian.
In the Uk we normally think of '90's metal' to mean the whole Pantera, Machine Head, Fear Factory, Sepultura thing. We'd call what you say '90's black metal':)

Many of the bands mentioned in this thread I never heard of. I think the closest I get to listening to 90s metal is probably Dream Theater.

Haven't listened metal too much metal exception being Faith No More. Some songs of them are unforgettable.

Faith no more is one of my favourite bands. 90's metal covers a huge amount of of material though espicially if you include rock. 1990 was the last of the big hair bands like Skid Row. 91 Grunge, Faith no More, and Metallica took off in 91 while the mid 90's was industrial. The decade finished with Slipknot and Coal Chamber coming along.
