Beginner help anyone?

Howdy All,

I just got civ. 3 it's awesome and all, but i got sum questions.

Ok so I usually play chieftain, but as you probably no, as a begginer and with bad AI, the technology lags behind and you finsh still in the industrial age.

So i switched 2 warlord and I just wanna ask some questions

What are the best strats??Like what is the best way to get started if someone could write someting up on a good beggining strat.

And Also - what is the best government - I dont like republic that much as I lose lots of money, same with demo. Aight thanks

Try some of the articles in the war academy (link is out on the main civfanatics.com page). Keep reading this site, all the different forums -- it's almost impossible to read a lot here and not improve drastically.

And to address your most specific question: if you're losing money as a republic/democracy, you're probably doing something wrong. Try any of the following: more roads (you get extra commerce for each worked tile that has a road on it), more cities (because of the previous), more marketplaces and banks (increase income dramatically).

Oh, and if you run into a specific question/problem/difficulty the best place to ask is the newbie thread at the top of the general discussions forum. You don't have to read the whole thread, just post whatever you like at the end and someone will answer.
