Best map for a Domination-only game?

I was thinking huge, continents, only using civs with military UA's, and raging barbarians but what do you guys think I should do?

This is what I was trying to talk about... domination, I have found easier in the land maps. Transporting land units overseas can make them obsolete quick sometimes. Building ships in sea maps can be easy too.

You mean what's the easiest? Pangea small.

For the best experience I would like some water, because of naval warfare and not being able to steamroll too early. On the other hand there's not a whole lot of time on higher difficulties, and taking the world on a huge map takes quite a while.

I'm looking for what would be the best experience not the easiest, I'd be ok with a game that lasts pretty long

Don't forget to consider speed. Slower speeds mean your army has a longer usable life before needing to be upgraded or replaced.

I assume you are looking for a challenge not a quick win/high score.

Continents is ideal because it gives the other side a chance to snowball before you are in position to stop a runaway.

No barbs. Sorry but as fun as raging barbs with honor opener is for humans it cripples the ******** AI who can escort a unit and sits its scouts for 10 turns to heal while getting slowly pecked to death by an archer.

Large. Maybe even drop a civ or 2 off to give the AI more room to expand. I don't think Huge will make much of a difference but it would give you more time in the game.

Standard Speed. Anything longer favors the human for a more challenging game I would stick with standard. I guess you could try quick but not sure how fun that would be on a huge map.

As far as Civs go you should have enough to get all the warmongers in plus a handful of the solid AI players. Hiawatha should be a beast. Pacal. Alex.

Sounds like a fun game, take some screenshots for us!

Epic game speed. Marathon is just too much, but standard feels slightly broken in that your army can become obsolete even in the time it takes to complete a single, especially demanding siege battle.

I have switched to Epic and I love it. Sure, for training purposes Standard will let you learn more in a shorter period of time, but the eras advancing so fast, it kills the pleasure for me.

I wonder though, might it even be possible to win a domination victory before the industrial era on a standard map, if you were playing Marathon and one of those ancient civs... There's a thought :)

Started it and it only took 20 turns before Greece started coveting my lands and put down a second city right next to my borders, Washington and Hiawatha are also on the same part of land as I am, playing as Shaka

100 turns in, Greece and America declared war on me and bombarded me with armies much bigger than my own leading to defeat, I restarted and am doing much better this time around
