What's the most number of cities you've managed to keep in an empire, with stability still at Stable or better? Which Civ and civics are you using at the end?
I can get to 35 cities with the Brits and the democratic civics (universal suffrage, free speech, emancipation, free market)... but I guess that's probably nothing special... Trying to figure if I can get to 50+ cities safely? And how?
24 for me with England. Its the only civ I have had such a large Empire with and been able to manage it properly. I have definitely had more cities with Arabia (historically not since BtS) and Mongolia (again pre BtS) but my empires have always been shaky or worse.
If we are at it ... can you tell me, how the size penalty for science works? Is it linear, logarithmic?
I still have the feeling that in RFC, big is beautiful and bigger nations will out-tech smaller ones (unless they trade like mad), but maybe it is just me and the chosen difficulty level that puts especially me in the tech lead.
In my roman empire game, I can easily push 30+ cities, I have vassals of egypt, ethiopia, portuguese, the mayans, and the incans, all of which give me +4 stability thanks to that nice viceroyalty civic, it's just a problem of getting the funds up for it...
