Hi
I played many multiplayer duel games, and what I observed is that
bonus to friendly land is too strong, you can have
1. +33Oligarchy
2 25%Nationalism
3. +25% Himeji Castle
so it means that you can have 83% !!!
IMO is far too big
With Great Wall you can have alomost perfect bunker.

I think that natioanlism should be changed enitrely bonus should be removed
and Great Wall should be absolute when you discover rifling.

Errrm... Didn't the Great Wall get obsoleted at Metallurgy, aka before even Rifling?

Although, I do agree that these bonuses are pretty obscene if you manage to stack them. Stacking them is a whole other thing though. How much people use Tradition (other than than Wonder bonus)? And how much people choose the Himeji Castle over, say, a few more Settlers (I heard that this ICS thing is all the rage these days)?

It's pretty big, especially for multiplayer in which case it might be broken, but as Cat said, it just doesn't come up in single player. If you tank a policy on oligarchy and tradition opener, waste even more policies on nationalism, and get himeji castle, you are at a rather extreme disadvantage (no theocracy, fewer settlers/colosseums).

I am talking about multiplayer games, in singleplayer there is no such problem.
Problem especially appears in duel games. But spending 2 SP and one engineer you get bonus in friendly lands 58%. When you manage to get also Great Wall, beating you starts to be very tough tasks.
I want also to add that in duel games you don't use ICS, honor is the mandatory for duel games.
