Burning DVDs!

Yes, I'm at it again, with another dummy question

I got:

1 CDR, 700mb, 80mins.
1 CDR/CDRW recorder

I want to:

Burn a DivX movie to DVD using only the two aforementioned things + some kind of software, of course

So, is this possible? Using what applications? Is there an easy way to do this?

Possible many other questions, will think...

I think the best is if you use a DVD-writer, but I know a friend who had bought a program wo that he could write DVDs in a cdwriter. It took him like a whole day (more than 15h) to write one though, so he gave that up pretty fast. Could ask what program he used though?
