Dissecting Civilizations has shown me the civilizations seem to be like a monster with a head, its capital. The Empire of the enemy is a lot more organized and deadly when it has a capital and is more agressive. I have noticed after smashing a capital, the enemy is a lot less agressive and passive. Sometimes refusing to irrigate fields or even expand. They just sit their dead. Anyone else notice this...?

I would definitely agree that the last few cities are far easier to take than the first few. In fact, I would say that the more cities you take from the enemy, the less of a fight it becomes, not just when you take the capital. I figure that one reason for this is that with fewer cities, the enemy has fewer weapons factories.

Of course, after the beginning part of the game is over and I'm in war mode, the irrigation and roads, etc. becomes less of a priority for me, too.

And they can't collect trade which means no tax income or science.

You're right. Take the capital and they're a headless beast.

I always like to play with a few cities, leaving room for another civ to become dominant and huge and then BAM, split the motherfu22er ;)

Hehe.

When a civ is split.. are they geographically split or just random cities picked for either side?

No Palace. No trade.

I think..

I noticed Geographically. I notice this in a lot of games when I start my counter offense by dividing my giant nemesis. They will give them entire continents or if they share a large continent, they will give them a clump of cities. Sometimes you'll see rebels get a couple cities here and there as well. But they aren't spread in no order.

2/5 of the original civ becomes rebel, starting from the furthest away from the capital and going closer. The original civ is left with 3/5 of it's original size, power, population, units, and money (without the capital).

How did you figure that out?

And may I add that fact (with you noted as the source of course) in a new page that consists of researhy stuff like that for my wiki?

Thank you sooo much Waleed :) You made my day :D

If you want, I can provide a lot of information that was written in that informative book "Civilization, or Rome on 640k a day", where they actually have a lot of the factual information behind the workings of the game.

You've got the book! 0_o

Yes please, please share interesting infomation. It should motivate me enough to carry on with the wiki ;)

Hmmm... well its quite a big book.. is there anything in particular you are interested in?
