Can't install

Just purchased Sid Meier's Pirates... and can't install it. I get most of the way threw the 2nd CD and it says installation is interrupted, and all I can do is click Finish and exit out. I'm running XP SP2. Thanx in advance for any help......

1. Do you have a virus scanner? Try disabling it during installation.

2. Maybe Disk 2 is scratched or dirty - try carefully wiping it clean.

3. Failing that - you may need to return the game to get a different disk. Could be you have a bad disk 2.

Thanx for the reply, but....I have disabled Norton, cleaned the disc, and had a new one sent, all to no avail. Something in my computer doesn't like Pirates! I have managed to install it on another computer, but after about 5 minutes into the game it crashes...

Sorry to hear it. Have you tried tech support with Firaxis? Are you sure your computer meets all the required specs? You may also want to try asking for help on one of the dedicated Pirates! boards, like hooked on pirates or Addicted to Pirates Check on the Firaxis/2K games site for other links to fansites dedicated to Pirates.
