I tried installing and playing this game under Windows 7 (64 bit) a couple of years ago and gave up. I am at it again with the same results. I installed it and played one evening. After restarting the pc I can launch the game and start from a new world, but I can't load, save, start on premade world.
I avoided program files directories and installed to:
C:\Games\Civilization II Multiplayer Gold Edition
I removed red only protection from the whole directory, but it didn't help.
It has to be a right or directory issue, but I seem to be the only person on the internet with this problem.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I first started playing this game in 1998 and it is still my favorite game.
