Can't play Civilization 4 nor uninstall

I can't play Civilization 4 after downloading a patch (1.74 I believe).

And I can't uninstall it either,

I have no add-ons for Civilization 4
EDIT: Also, my computer can't download anything from the interent, so an alt. to uninstall C4 without any program from the internet is the only choice I have.

looks like a bad install..

try re-installing but make sure you disable anti-virus and dont have any other programs running while it completes.

go through and make sure everything is up to date on your machine too, such as directx, gfx drivers etc

at worst doing the above will at least allow you to uninstall correctly

i have a similar error. any ideas on how to re-install civ 4 without uninstalling it first?

You could use regedit to remove the civ 4 reg entries, this will fool the installer into thinking you don't have it installed, then install over the old install
