Can't play loaded games multiplayer

Whenever I try loading a multiplayer game that I play with my friend, it will load but there is a sort of permanent fog of war over the whole map, and once one turn goes by, it usually freezes. Any help?

Ah, The ultimate fog of war... This has happened to me once before while loading my game vs. my brother on another computer using network connections. Patch 1.22 I heard fixes this bug, otherwise, moving a unit on the map normally clears that fog back to normal. I suggest patching to 1.22 for the fix on loading multiplayer games though :^)
