Caravan and Cargo ship bug?

I just entered the modern era and my caravans still look like camels and my cargo ships still have sails. Is this a bug or do they not change until the atomic era?

I noticed the same thing. I presume caravans change at combustion, which I didn't have by the time I won my first game, but I'm not sure what tech cargo ships change at, it's not steam power as I thought.

Yes I know that the picture will change but in a very late state of the game.
When you research "Penicilline" the picture will change

I also thought it to change with Combustion, but it is changed when you enter the Atomic Era.

It seems like it should change over when you hit the industrial era like workers do, but no, you have your sail-based cargo ships still sailing around protected by battleships and submarines. Good times.
