CCP cuts BBC World after Falun Gong protest footage...

I somewhat object to postings of this nature, as they are generally pointless. I'm sure we're all agreed on the freedom of speech issue, hence there is little to debate. So what's the point in just providing us with news reports?

In a way it is, but it's nothing new and no surprise that the Chinese government is banning and persecuting anything that might endanger its power.
And you will have a hard time finding many people here that support the Chinese government, as Hamlet mentioned.

I wanted to see Fayadi's reaction, see if state media told him that the BBC was assisting "dangerous counterrevolutionary insurgents"

This is borderline trolling, RM. Tread carefully when you are walking on eggshells.

Don't feed the trolls!
;)

No, that was just a joking response. I know Fayadi is not a supporter of the Communist Party.

This is just starting to sound like Zemin is moving towards a "Great Leap Backward" to the Mao days.

How can they move backwards when they have never moved forewards? :D

They did, once, when they gained control of Hong Kong -- the only functioning city of the "People's Republic."

The topic might bustle if the Hate-America crowd draw some sort of lengthy diatribe about how it is not different than the propagandistic U.S. media.

Every media is propagandistic, we should just get over it, that the American media is the most influential is ... *shrugs*

(after all free speech is not the opposite of propoganda)

Why couldn't this be posted in the communist thread so I wouldn't read it :(

Whoops, Baleog didn't post that I did, a problem with the logging in/out (Yeah its not very complex I'm sure!).

The signature be needing clarification, I see...

"Yackety Yak, Bomb Iraq" was a parody of the Coaster's "Yackety Yak" on Rush Limbaugh that was played during the Gulf War.

Here's the lyrics:

This crazy man named Saddam Hussein,
You've no doubt that the man's insane,
He better get used to feeling fright,
In from the south -- put out his lights!
Yackety Yak! Bomb Iraq!

You must have been an only son,
Growing up and playing with guns,
Came into power, came into wealth,
Look out the window, check out the stealth!
Yackety Yak! Bomb Iraq!

A man possesed by his own greed,
Ignored his country's desperate needs,
We aint gonna cut you any slack,
Look his palace -- now its a shack!
Yackety Yak! Bomb Iraq!

Keep ground forces rolling in,
Your own troops know you cannot win,
Don't get too comfy in your pad,
Whoops! There goes Baghdad!
Yackety Yak! Bomb Iraq!

I can't belive your still alive,
Give your people all a jive,
The U.S.A. wont take no flak,
Here comes another air attack!
Yackety Yak! Bomb Iraq!

The U.S.A. wont take no flak,
Here comes another air attack!
Yackety Yak! Bomb Iraq!

I'll upload the MP3 for you to downoad. It's only 400K or so to download.
