Change Civilization Color?

I really really tried to look through the topics and posts that were already here. No I swear! But the lack of a Search function forces me to ask. Is there a way to change your Civ's color? I get tired of being Red all the dang time, and was really surprised when I snagged blue the other day. Are we just sorta stuck with whatever color the AI assigns us? Is it faction related ie some factions are more likely to get assigned some colors than others? Thanks for your time, I am sure this is has probably been answered before. I didn't see anyone who had made a tool that said it covered this.

Each civ has a default color and an alternate color. If the default color is being already used by another civ it will then use the alternate color. If you want to be a different color you can use the editor. You have to select "custom player data" first under the Scenario Menu. Within the editor under Scenario Properties click on the “Players” tab. Then uncheck mark "Civilization Defaults", now you will be able to change the color of the civ you are going to be. Just select the color from the drop-down box titled Team Color.

Yes.
Open the editor
Steps:
1. Scenario >> Custom Rules >> OK
2. Rule >> Edit >> Civilizations
3. from the pull down chose the Civ you want to edit
4. choose the color and the alternate color
5. save

This generates a scenario that is identical to the usual game exception made for the color.

Play that scenario. It will warn you that the rules have changed, but in reality only the color has changed
