Change Turn Timer mid game?

Is it possible to change the turn timer after the start of the game?
Say we started out with "Medium" but later on decided we'd like to change it to "Slow".

Can this change be done after the start of a game?

As far as I know the only way to change the game parameters midway through a match would be to go into the specific data file for that saved game and fiddle with it. (I'm not currently on a computer that has Civ installed, so I couldn't tell you the exact path) Of course, this could cause some rather weird problems, and then again there might be an easier way that I do not know about; I'm no expert.
