Is anyone else disappointed with the quality of the city graphics in Civilization III? The game programmers have designed lush landscapes of green fields and rolling hills. What could have been the motivation to make the city icons look like festering industrial eyesores? If the idea behind the concept of civilization is progress, surely it would be possible to design cities that reflect this instead of the blackened warehouses that currently contaminate our screens. Would it possible for someone to design city graphics that reflect something more stately like commerical buildings, stores, or skyscrapers? This is just a suggestion from a relative neophyte. I hope someone will be able to rectify the problem.:)

Actually I think they did a good job with the city grapx... However, the cities lack a little contrast and colour, while I like the great detail of the artwork.

I think some of the overall intentions behind the pastellish graphics design is a smoothness and timeless "feel" of some sorts.

I am working on some changes, which will give the graphics a little more contrast and character, and a little more "iconographic" touch a la civ2 and civ1. In short, I am preparing a graphics mod, which will make civ2ish scenarios look and feel ok with the game.
