City range strike strength; how is it calculated? Do walls/castle/unit inside make it stronger (I know walls expand the range)?

I couldn't find the mechanics online or in game.

I don't 100% know the exact math but city strike strength is mostly based off of 3 factors. The terrain the city is on (mostly if it's hills or not), buildings that increase defenses like walls castles etc., and the strength of the land unit stationed in the city. I do believe it is in some form based off the combat strength of the city along with any additional modifiers to city ranged strike damage, but I'm slightly less confident that's actually how it works

You can look in Civilopedia and also in buildings (if you hover mouse over them), I believe that when you look at defensive buildings they show strength added and HP, also they say about range if added.

Walls gives +1 range strike. They also mention additions to Combat Strength, but nothing about ranged strike strength. I don't even know if there is a relationship between City Strength and Ranged strike strength; "LifeorDeath" says there is, but that's not mentioned in the Civipedia as far as I know.

If I'm not mistaken, RCS starts as the city's ungarrisoned CS; an ungarrisoned city with 11 CS will also have 11 RCS before modifiers. Defense buildings (e.g. Wall and Castle) increase both CS and RCS at once.

Garrisoned units don't increase RCS by themselves. Tradition has a policy that adds a +25% RCS modifier to garrisoned cities.

Military Base and Orders (follower belief building) have a +10% modifier to the city's RCS.

4UC Poland has an UB that adds another +10% RCS modifier to the city.

This is very helpful. Many Thanks.
