I wanted to share this. I was playing Alex and went for Diplomatic Victory. All city states were my allies. The Arabs declared war to Stockholm, and I decided to help. Since the city was 10 or so turns away, I started sending units one after another. Finally, I was able to make Mech Infantry, the Arabs have just discovered Infantry... So two of gifted Mechs, finally cleared all enemy units, Stockholm went to the offence and actually captured a nearby Arab city and RAZED it. :):)
Just wanted to share this story, has anyone seen a city-state capturing a civ city :):)

They puppet capitals (not capitols, argh!) as those cities can't get razed. Other cities they seem to always raze.

In one of my games a city state wiped mongols (who is a city state now?). May be that is why some civilizations declared war on them later. The good news they was surrounded by me and I refused an open borders with most civs.

Best I've seen is one CS liberate another CS before Greece went in and conquered both. Even after gifting them some experienced mechanised infantry and destroyers.

Oh that's cute. I'd really like to see the CS maintain better militaries. Right now they are bit of a pushover.

lol In my game (Warlord difficulty- lol) I gifted a modern army to Florence and Singapore. Alexander controlled the entire South America (earth map). I laughed as I watched Florence and Singapore completely wipe out Alexander. Florence puppeted Alexander's capital.

well, my current game, Genoa conquered and puppeted a Roman city... Rome was huge, but lost its armies in 4 wars against me (two of which defensive while protecting venice :P)
