Picked up Civ IV - GOTY v.161
Installed the game, downloaded the patch (got a message running the patch that it wasn't needed and chose "no" when asked if I want to install it anyway). When I go to run the game, it goes into some routine and gets stuck there. The routine is labeled "init MP / Voice".
I dug around for a while trying to find a resolution and saw (and tried some) that suggested running it in a different windows mode but couldn't get anywhere. Running it in an XP mode caused the game to keep asking me to put the CD in when it was.
I'm running 7 also.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
