Civ3xedit abnormal program termination error

Hi.

I wonder about this error. When I start Civ3Xedit.exe a got this message:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime error:

PROGRAM: C:\CIV3\CIV3PTW\CIV3XEDIT.EXE

abnormal program termination


I installed Civ 3 into C:\CIV3 path. Everythink worked. I installed patch 1.29 and everythink worked. I moved ( not reinstalled, simply moved ) Civilization into D:\CIV3 path. Everything but Civ3Edit worked. So i found out, that Civ3Edit must have all data stored in a place, where original instalation was copied. I moved my Civ3 back to C:\CIV3 and everything is working fine.

Later I installed PTW into C:\CIV3\CIV3PTW path. The game works fine, but the Civ3XEdit shows this error mesasge again.
Civ3Edit works fine. I have PTW ver 1.05.

I tried both reinstall of Civ3 and PTW and nothing helped.

Because of my previous experience with moving Civ3Edit and getting the same error message, I think there must be a problem in path or in some registry entry.

Can anyone help me to find this out.

I made a mistake up here . It is PTW 1.04 for sure...

I had the same problem. Here is solution, which helped me:
Run regedit and go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Infogrames\Civ3PTW
Here you will find entry Install_Path with some value e.g. "C:\CIV3\CIV3PTW\". Now change this value to "." , and editor should work fine.

I installed PTW on a secondary hard-drive and I get this error with the editor too... Thanks for the tips
