Hi Leif, great to see you're still here
Played up till T66 until I had to a break for 4 weeks, now trying to finish before the 15th with the new patch
(that didn't seem to change anything really).
Forgot to take a Screenshot at T75, will post in the 2nd Antiquity Thread. Its been a month so I'll try to point out decisions I can still remember:
Settled right next to the Natural Wonder.
Early BO was 2 scouts and brickyard immediately (goody hut got me pottery early). Then 2 settlers (bought one for a total of 3). For tiles I prioritized Hammers strongly.
Settled 1st town across the river W of the natural wonder, 2nd town (next city) in the desert next to silver and 3rd town below the mountain range in the E (mainly to prevent Friedrich from settling there).
4th town was the obvious spot next to the Gold in the N.
Ashoka settled a town close to me (NW) and got it razed by my friend CS immediately
On odd turns I built two Slingers, together with a Warrior that was found in a hut I targeted the CS NE of Rome right away. Timed its dispersion to finish Stele and HG very quickly (honestly might skip Stele in the future).
Besides Settlers, 2 Slingers and Wonders I built Library (first because science was terrible), Monument and Altar (bought it for Stone Quarries).
After HG I got another Settler out and used Legatus ability to settle 2 more to the W. However, Sparta by my friend Lafayette screwed up my settling spots (screenshot next thread).
In the meantime I had made Ostia a City asap (around T50) to hardbuild Petra, finished slightly before T70 iirc. Ostia followed up with the Pyramids.
Rome built the unique district, Gate of All Nations and units (incl. 2 Legatus) after. I decided to skip Oracle.
Turn 75 I'm gearing up for war vs Ashoka while spamming wonders.
Culture: Mysticism - Discipline (to get rid of CS asap) - Roman Civics
Science: Pottery - AH - Masonry
I befriended only the cultural CS to the NW early on. I used some influence to repeatedly spy science from Friedrich. Never got lucky tho, always just flat Science.
CS started
