CivIII patch error

after I downloaded and installed civ 3 patch 1.29f, the game wont start at all! I can open the editor and have seen improvements in the patch but if I click the game itself, it wont start anymore. is the game version a factor? my civ 3 is v1.07f vanilla...Did i miss something?

Well, just to make sure, when you try to run the game you have the CD in the computer right? If your game worked before you installed the patch and now it doesn't, then most probably what happened is that the patch screwed up somewhere along the way. It would be best to uninstall Civ3 and reinstall it, and patch it before running it the first time.

What kind of computer do you have? Give some specs, like which operating system you're running, the processor, ram, video card. If you bought the game and patched it up and your system is fine, there shouldn't be an issue. Does the game run before you patch it? Check some of the other threads here, there might be a fix floating around somewhere.

well, my PC is XP pro, NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 4000, Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.40GHz, 254Mb RAM... yeah, the game did run before i patched it and i tried reinstalling it but played after the patch was installed, it still wont start...i dont know, now i think my system is busted in some way, i dont think its in the patch...thanks 4 the help anyway
