CnC Tiberium Wars: Question about medals

Does anyone know what the 'Stars' next to the skirmish maps realy mean?

i know the show the toughest setting I've beaten the AI on, but I'd need to know some details and it seems realy hard to google it. i tried for quite a while without success.

I know 'all golden' mean: beaten against all AIs on 'hard'.
I know 'golden with green in the middle' means: beaten against all AIs on 'brutal'.

But I also have one map shown as 'golden with red middle'. It seems to be better then 'all golden' because I just beat it against all on 'hard' and it didnt update. So what does it mean?

After looking for a different old thread, I thought I could bump this because I love this game.

My guess is that it is got to involve handicaps on yourself. Otherwise I do not know.

As for me, I have beaten most maps on hard except the big tiberium-producing worlds like bordertown beatdown (about 6 of them).

I also have 3 questions related to this game:
- how do I get custom maps?
- How do I win on hard balanced level in big tiberium-producing maps (e.g: blue ore and/or tiberium towers)? Although I am able to resist their early offensive, their late offensives are too strong to repel. Hard level is indeed hard, alright.
- How can I beat the first campaign missions for NOD and GDI for Act III (location: Serbia, Croatia, Albania) on normal or hard? I've managed to complete nearly all missions on medium level and all Act I and II missions on hard, but the third Act is a very hard one on any level other than easy.
