Hoping to find someone (even 1 person) who can play with me vs AI opponents, and possibly help me improve.
Im free all day erry day for the duration of summer break from around 10AM EST to 11PM EST

Some guys in another thread are playing MP with patch n and someone else said that Tholal's More Naval AI works with MP.

If I have an hour or 2 during the week I'll pm you and see if you're around. I'm on Australian EST though.

You know, we don't mind if you play in our game with a handicap or if you're allied with a computer or another player.

When are you playing next time again?
And, all im asking, is perhaps to maintain a peace treaty with me, allowing me to be one of those small and weak countries that gets bullied by everyone :-)
Or I can be some sort of unit merchant, where all i do is sell ppl units.

Only because in games i play vs AI, i go full eco, and by the time they have 6-8 units in every city, im lucky to have 2...

Naval AI is super stable and I have no problem doing mp with it. Wild Mana used to be but i get oos after a hundred or so turns and cant seem to fix it with reload. These days i use naval 100% for multiplayer.

Oh, also a suggestion for you. You can build units for defense and still be "full eco." think of them as part of your economy, since they are the guardians of it. You dont have to have the strongest army, but if you have the weakest one, you will be run over every time. AIs are aware of civ military strength, and if you have decent or at least basic defenses, they wont see you as an easy target. Neglecting your military completely is absolutely an invitation to be attacked in the first place. They will know you are an easy target and declare war for that reason alone. Keeping them honest will prevent them from declaring war early and overpowering you, allowing you to continue building your economy. I tend to be a builder myself - it is a necessary part of it.

Also, try a game with raging barbarians, as it will force you to build a decent defense that once established, will give you plenty of time to develop your research and cashflow. Think of them as a teacher. Being able to hold off the barbs doesnt mean youre prepared against an invading civ, but they wont declare war as easily if you are accomplishing this.

And if none of those ideas appeal to you, there is an option for "always peace" in the staging room. I've never used it, but I imagine no one will be able to declare war. You can still use Council of Esus units to fight and try to cripple your foes, without ever having to worry about all out war. Let the best builder win!

We're completely okay with that. We're playing this weekend. You can check that new post I created.

The only current stable version is Patch G, when you disable Hyborem and Basium.

All other modmods, including More Naval AI, will experience OOS at a certain point during late game.

The OOS is AI related, though, so if you play with humans only it shouldn't be an issue.

Whats OOS by the way?
I saw it in game, with one of the settings that allows you to lock/unlock certain civs.

Out of sync, like parallel universes. On one player's system maybe a goblin spawned, but on another system it didn't resulting in two different games. Trying to continue anyway just creates a larger rift, like where a player is being invaded by an army of undead but that player doesnt even see it. Totally unplayable. Some oos issues can be fixed simply by saving and reloading, or in other cases reloading an earlier save. Other kinds cant be fixed at all and the game is lost.

Depending on mod or version, diabling things like events, hyborem/basium, ranged warfare, and probably some other things can reduce factors that may cause them.

In staging room options you might have seen disable oo for octopus overlords, or debug for reducing oos.

yea, I've heard that Naval AI mod removes a lot of the OOS errors ... I think it was related to the way the AI's "thought" and how that became difficult in the late-game.

(at least more recent versions of Naval AI)
