I play BTS emperor lvl. Anyone else have AI cities popping out brand new units in the middle of the human players combat turn? Are these new units made/conscripted or do they arrive from other cities? Surely this should not happen outside the AI's turn.
Recently I've had a lot of sieges turn out badly because of this "feature".
You see that there's only one longbow left in the city, you attack and win, but you don't move into the city. There's one more defender. You kill him. There's another. Maybe even a third turns up after you finish that one?
It's the Partisans. They're weak, even if they are state of the art tech, right?
It adds some variety and uncertainty to the game. I enjoy it.
1. If I whip/buy my unit then I don't get it until the next turn, then on the AI's turn and he is going to capture my city then the unit I paid for comes into play and will defend. I guess the game considers the unit complete and just doesn't give it to on your turn for game balance I'd assume, but it'll let it defend for you.
2. I see sometimes on my unit that is wounded or stacked, that the animations shows the rest of my, already there, units run to the stack. It isn't addes, just a special effect that the games does. It just shows a unit running to the stack, but doesn't actually add anything.
I've had sort of the same problem before. I'd declare war and move my units onto an empty space in the AI's territory, only for a unit of theirs to suddenly occupy that space.
