-i just made a thought........corruption and waste is a big problem and we all agree to that.....right?
-when we look at the level of corruption and waste ...where do we look for?.....in the city display is the answer ..right?.....
-well this wrong!.....because in a civilization we must look at corruption and waste not in a single city (when we want to improve it) but in the total of the cities.....why?...because i think citizens dont stay in just one city but they use to move around ....or not? ...whats your opinion?

I don't understand what you're getting at.

The specifics of Corruption (loss of gold) and Waste (loss of production) are very well known and have been researched specifically. A tool has even been made that you can use to put in the specifics of your game and it will predict the corruption for any given city.

Read the FAQ thread (I believe it's in the general forum) and do a search for corruption. There's a link from there to a thread with everything you could want to know :)

This is the weirdest thread I've read here at CFC :). I think you're looking at it all wrong, Veteran. You must look at corruption city by city (maybe not in real life, but in the PC game Civilization III, yes) because your best method to cut down on corruption is to build a courthouse or a similiar city improvement in that city. So, you see, corruption really boils down to a one city at a time affair.

How exactly could a citizen move? They aren't a virtual person, they really just represent the size of the city and cannot contribute to corruption themselves. The only way to deal with corruption on a wider scale is through a (forbidden) palace, but that still all comes down to one city in which it is built.

Hmmm, in reality, pple do move, but in this game pple don't. Corruption 'n waste are usually more prevalent in cities far from the capital city. Each city has a different corruption/waste level for various reasons so each city must be treated separately & certain improvements built to help.
-As for the whole civilization, bldg wonders help & simple progression throughout the ages. However, corruption OVERALL is usually quite a problem.
-I think I understand where you're coming from, but this is a game that tries to simulate reality, but real life is too complicated to be accurately portrayed in civ3.
-did you mean to just start a philosophical discussion?
