Do you remember when you would aim for the capital of say: Russia and you took it, half the Russian cities would become French.
I freaking loved it!
Such a ****** should've been included in all the followups.

Yes, but it was a pretty easy way to hinder your enemy. You could park a rifleman on a transport outside the capital of the most powerful civilisation, and one turn before it waas to reach alpha centauri attack their capital with a nuke and take the city. Then the spaceship would return to earth.

It doesn't ALWAYS happen. (does it?)
Does anyone know the stats on that?

Neh. The Civ has to be x big to fall apart. Small civs don't do that. Don't know how big.
I also love it when barbarians take a city. In Civ1, it becomes a barbarian city that just pumps out barbs. I love it. It was re-introduced in Civ4.

They have to have more than 5 cities, and they have to have more cities than you.
(unsure if they have to be the largest)
And of course, there needs to be a slot free for the "rebel" civ.

The exakt conditions were stated in detail on this forum, unsure where, but maybe within the civ1 section on the main page (not the forums page, the one that starts with www).

Civ1 and civ4 are in many ways similar, and the best. If only they could reintroduce the advancement options (not move from adjacent square to another adjacent square and not advance after victory) of civ1 to civ4, that would be the ultimate game. That rule makes it more about strategy than to pump out units.

That was a really fun thing to see happen. Was it really realistic though? Thoughts?

Some people predicted Iraq would disintegrate after the invasion, but it hasn't (not formally at least).

Who cares if it's realistic? I think it adds another strategic element to the game. Is the new civ gonna be friendly with you, or not? I always enjoyed that element of the game.

Didn't Civ2 have that as well? I know 3 doesn't.

I haven't found it, do you know where it is?

I can't remember if Civ2 had it, I believe not.
