Second time I've tried playing as Gorgo, second time it repeatedly crashes on the AI turn. 
Emperor, Gorgo, next turn 398 instant crash to desktop. <30 turns from a victory. Reloaded three times, all three times crashed instantly at the start of turn 398.
As this was going to finally be my first emperor victory I wasn't going to allow defeat so I reloaded from an old save file around turn 360. I did absolutely nothing except max production to rush the final spaceship part. This time the game did not crash and I won on turn ~402 or so. I can provide this earlier savefile if requested.
