Custom Games?

Are there any custom games that work well for a 1v1 multiplayer game? I don't know if Civ 5 can be modded that way, but what I'm looking for is something where both players start with a fully developed Civ in modern era or industrial era, and have the ability to produce units relativily quickly.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there's any way to play with mods in multiplayer. I think the closest thing to what you're asking is to choose the starting era as modern or future.
